On Friday, November 18th, the Beverly versus Salem Powderpuff game took place at Bertram Field in Salem. As per tradition, the senior girls played flag football against Salem’s senior girls while the senior boys were cheerleading from the sides and put on a halftime performance for the watchers.
After a devastating defeat last year at the Powderpuff game, Beverly redeemed themselves this year by beating Salem 21 to 20. Several fantastic runs were made that caused Beverly students to leap to their feet in excitement. Not only were the football players crushing Salem, but the cheerleaders put on a wonderful performance that left the crowd in awe even after it ended. Members of the marching band also showed up to play in the stands between downs. With the band, cheerleaders, and student cheering section, the atmosphere was very upbeat.
Beverly’s Powderpuff team took it home for us all, and we can only hope that next year the players can live up to the same expectations.
