Nola Minogue ’21
November 22, 2019
When Panther starting quarterback Danny Morency (class of ‘21) went down with an injury, backup quarterback Anthony Pasquarosa (class of ‘21) stepped up to lead the team into the playoffs. The Ledger spoke with Pasquarosa about his experience…
How do you think the season went?
I think that the season, even though we did not win in the playoffs, was very successful. We’re a very talented team, we have all these great players, but we had a lot of injuries. We battled adversity above those injuries. We had a really tough schedule and the fact that we got to play
in the playoff against a good team. In that game that we played against Carlisle, the scoreboard didn’t really define that game; I feel like we played that game tough. Other than that, the season’s been really successful. We played hard through injuries.
How often do you practice?
We practice every day. We have the occasional film on Sunday- they record the game, and we watch the game over, just to see if we made mistakes we can fix.
Do you have high hopes for the Thanksgiving game?
That’s the biggest game of the year that everyone looks forward to obviously. We’re gonna try and go in there and beat them as bad as we can.
Ready for it to be at Salem High’s stadium?
I hope the crowd’s nasty, I hope it’s a crazy environment.
How is Bertram Field different than Hurd Stadium?
Obviously, at Hurd, we have a lot more Beverly people coming, and it is more partial to the Beverly players. It’s where we’ve learned, that’s where we’ve played our whole lives. Having the last game of the year at Hurd is a crazy experience, but it’s no different than Salem, other than that there’ll be a lot more people in Salem, we’ll be wearing our white jerseys.
