BHS Volleyball Works & Plays Hard During the Fall ’21 Season

By Norah Jewett ’25

The BHS volleyball team has been working non stop every day after school, whether it be practice or games, and it is paying off with success.

It’s also been a fantastic year for the varsity team. One of the players on the varsity team mentions that they have the potential to make it to the playoffs this year. The JV and freshman teams are also doing well.

“It’s a very involved and energetic atmosphere. There’s a lot of motivation to better yourself in the sport and build your skills,” freshman team member Sydney Simoes remarks. “We have practice everyday and while it’s not a ton of pressure, there definitely is some.”

Other players share how the team works well together and that they’ve been having lots of fun this season.

The freshman team has been focusing on building skills so far this year, in hopes to become better so they have a shot at playing on the JV team in their sophomore year.

Another player on the freshman team, Isabelly Baldon states, “I joined hoping to have a lot of fun, and it is. I’m really glad I’m enjoying myself. Everyone here on the team is good at something, whether it be setting, receiving, or serving.”

Like the freshman team, the JV team is also hard at work. They are on a winning streak so far this season.

“It’s been a really good year so far for the JV team. These have been some of the strongest teams we’ve had in a while. We had a very big win over Danvers, which was a huge deal for us,” JV coach Jacquelyn Petrocelli explains.

Although the season is ending later on this month, the teams have had a great experience so far!
