Last week, the class of 2023’s officers released an official junior prom invitation on Instagram. While extremely exciting, we may find ourselves needing to plan, get organized, and take in all the information for this upcoming spring.
Mind you, the last schoolwide dance we had was in 2019, which marked our eighth grade graduation. With this three year gap and four months till prom, it’s important to be prepared so you can have the best time possible!
Here’s everything you need to know:
When: Friday, May 20th, 2022 from 5 P.M. to 11 P.M.
Where: The DoubleTree Hotel Grand Ballroom on 50 Ferncroft Road, Danvers MA, 01923
Admission Cost: $65
Additionally, a public Facebook group has been made for those interested in sharing their dresses! This is optional, but helps with preventing duplications. The link to accessing that is here: https://www.facebook.com/groups/4707939949322959/?ref=share
As for the original invitation, it can be found on Instagram. The post can be seen in the following link, https://www.instagram.com/p/CZKT_FluBJ8/?utm_source=ig_web_copy_link, or on the class page: @beverlyhs.class.of.2023
Finally, I got the opportunity to interview Brooke Davies, our class Vice President, about the upcoming event.
Q: Will masks be necessary?
A: Mask status is going to be based on the status of cases and other factors going into the pandemic.
Q: How will admission work?
A: Entry will be paid beforehand, the tickets will be on little cards that you will purchase and save to show at the door. We will start selling them soon.
Brooke also mentioned how “beforehand, we generally all meet up at Lynch Park to take pictures and see each other before we make our way to prom.”
Finally,
Q: What went into planning all this out?
A: There was a lot of communication between the four of us [class officers] and our two advisors. We had to be sure to keep the price low due to low funds, as well as making sure the venue and food, as well as entertainment, would be good. There were a lot of phone calls, visitations, and emails to different venues and places to host. We held many meetings to discuss what we wanted to do, what food, times, packages, et cetera. On top of planning the prom, we were in charge of planning fundraisers to raise additional funds. This included visiting businesses and discussing costs and funds, as well as organizing events we were hoping to hold.
Clearly, our class officers put a lot of thought in to get information out. Hopefully, this article is able to provide enough guidance so you can wind up in our ballroom on May 20th! Hope to see you there!
