REACH Internships. It’s a chance for Beverly High Seniors to pursue their interests before potentially considering it for a possible career. This can come in the form, such as interning at a company focused on the career you’re interested in or creating a project that represents your interests. In the past, students have made movies––most notably A Century on Sohier Road created by a group of students last year–– and plays, such as Mia Contilli’s self written play, Enigmatical, to satisfy a project requirement. The choice is entirely up to the students, and it is meant to help them learn about their interests that can continue to build on outside of high school. In around late May to early June, the “REACH Fair” will be set up in the field house, giving seniors an opportunity to showcase the internship or project they had been working on for the past two months to teachers and other students.
This year, seniors leave for their REACH Internships/Projects after April Break (April 15th-19th) and will only be in the building for AP classes and any music department commitments. Otherwise, students will be spending the next few months on these internships and projects.
The Ledger hopes to cover several of these experiences over the next few months, so stay tuned to learn more about some of the internships and projects students are pursuing!
