With the start of a new year is the beginning of two theater productions at Beverly High, both set to perform in March. The Stage Right Drama Club is currently working on their 40 minute play Medea, which follows the Greek myth of Medea, an enchantress who was betrayed by Jason and later sought revenge.
This play is for Dramafest, a theater competition held in schools around Massachusetts where schools meet and perform their one-act plays and compete to move on to the next round.
This year, Beverly High is competing at Framingham High School against several other drama departments from around the state. This is happening all day on March 2nd, so consider dropping in if you are interested in a day of different theater productions.
In addition to Dramafest, the music department is preparing for their spring musical production of Pippin. This large production is put on by a large coalition of students that make up the cast, crew and pit orchestra. This show is performing March 15th at 7:00, 16th at 7:00, and 17th at 2:00 in the Beverly High School auditorium.
If you’re interested in theater, you should consider dropping into any one of these productions and supporting these talented students!
