DECA at Delphine’s: BHS Students Pair Up with Small Business

By Klea Gjergji ’23

Brooke Davies and Natalie Reynolds, Senior Vice Presidents of the Beverly High DECA program, have recently paired up with Delphine’s Kitchen, our favorite local french crêperie. They are currently working with the business on their Project Management Business Solutions assignment by identifying specific goals the crêperie hopes to accomplish and implementing crucial strategies.

Brooke and Natalie made their big first step into the project by having a BHS senior, Dylan McCay, perform live music on October 21st. I attended the exciting event and immediately noticed the number of people pouring in every minute. Eventually, all the seats were occupied by students, friends, and family members. As I sat with Brooke and Natalie, we were astonished at how crowded and packed the area had become compared to the other times we had been there. This event at Delphines was very successful in the sense that it brought many people into the business and everyone was enjoying the spectacular live music.

I had the opportunity to interview Brooke Davies and Natalie Reynolds to get a closer look into their project:

Q: Why did you choose Delphines Kitchen for your marketing project?

A: We chose Delphines as it was one of our new favorite places to visit. They are a fairly new business and always trying to find new ways to get themselves out there. It is such a community feel with the friendliest staff I have ever met. We couldn’t have thought of a better place.

Q: What is your overall goal for this project?

A: Our overall goal is to bring in more customers in general, but specifically a younger crowd. With a lot of high schoolers and college students in the area, we are aiming for quite a different target audience. Delphine’s is a MUST try and we want everyone in the area to know it.

Q. What specific marketing strategies are you implementing to improve Delphine’s kitchen?

A: One of our biggest things will definitely be the live music nights. After the success of our first high schooler, Dylan McCay, performing this past weekend, we are already planning for the next.

Q: Anything else we should look forward to? (events, fundraisers, public announcements, etc..)

A: We are always looking for live music performers!! If you or a friend is interested please please do not hesitate to reach out!

On that note, Brooke and Natalie are still currently working with Delphine herself to bring more people into the business and expand the French cuisine to local consumers!
