The Newest Political Shock: The Class of 2027 Officer Elections

By Norah Jewett ‘25

Back in September at the start of the school year, the new freshmen class had elected four people to hold the important positions of class officers. These students are tasked with the responsibility of fundraising and planning events for their class to enjoy. However, after a year of little fundraising and a canceled Freshmen Semi-Formal Dance, it was clear that the class was hoping to elect different officers at the end of the school year who could fulfill the needs of the class efficiently.

On Friday, May 31st, class elections for the classes of 2025, 2026 and 2027 were held during advisory. While the class of 2025 elected one new person to the panel of officers (Mia Chavez as class secretary) and the class of 2026 elected no new officers, the class of 2027 elected new people to all four positions.

There were ten candidates: two for President, four for Vice-President, three for Secretary and one for Treasurer.

In their speeches, many of the candidates discussed fundraising and their potential ideas, feedback forms, organization, and collaboration. They each spoke to their ability to help give their class the “best year possible” coming into the next school year.

In the end, Amelia Jewett was elected President, Issac Bosse’ was elected Vice-President, Grace Odomore was elected Secretary, and Abby Sidmore was elected Treasurer. Each as spoke to their willingness to dedicate their time and effort into giving their class the events and opportunities they want. We wish them all the best in this upcoming school year!
