Words On Fire Review

Words on Fire is a historical fiction book written by Jennifer Nielsen, a New York Times bestselling author. It takes place in what was originally Lithuania, but Russia overtook the country, banning all books from the country’s culture, making them illegal. The story is told from the perspective of a twelve year old girl, who is thrown head first into danger after her parents are arrested and send her off with a package and instructions on who to give it to.

Throughout this story, readers learn the importance books and words are to their cultures, and to their own selves.

The book brings to life characters that readers will quickly learn to love, as well as daring stunts and moments that are sure to keep readers on the edge of their seats the whole time.
