Week 1:
On September 5th, Beverly football kicked off their fall season, coming off a 4-7 season record in 2024. They begin the year with hopes for the first-ever winning, or above .500 season since 2018. The Panthers traveled to Gloucester High School to face the Fishermen on the Friday night season opener. The game stayed even for the majority of the game, with a score late in the 2nd quarter by Beverly senior captain running back #4, Sean Costa, and the extra point by #53, Alex Marquez. The Panthers kept their lead until late in the 4th quarter with a 99-yard drive topped off by a rushing touchdown from Gloucester running back #34, Thomas Cribbs. Gloucester took the risk for a two-point conversion with the intent to make the game 8-7, and succeeded off the legs of Gloucester running back #21, Joseph Allen. Beverly failed to score on the following series, resulting in Gloucester receiving the ball and Thomas Cribbs scoring his second touchdown of the night with under a minute left in the game. The extra point made the score 15-7, the Beverly Panthers failed to score in the one-minute drill, and the game ended. Both teams looked to have a strong rushing attack, with both quarterbacks combining for fewer than 15 pass attempts the entire game. Beverly looks to bounce back against Haverhill on Saturday (9/13/25), while Gloucester looks to ride momentum against Falmouth that same Saturday.

Beverly hosted the Haverhill Hillies on September 13th, hoping for a home game win after a 38-21 loss against them last year. This game was Haverhills’ 2025 season debut game after finishing their previous season with a 3-8 record. Beverly got off to a hot start in the 1st quarter, scoring two touchdowns, one from Senior Captain Sean Costa and the other from junior running back Sean Okhuozagbon, with both extra points from senior captain Alex Marquez, making it 14-0. The game was quiet from that point on until senior quarterback Danny Pierce threw a 5-yard passing touchdown to junior George Frost with seven minutes and ten seconds left in the 2nd quarter, making the game 20-0 with Marquez missing the extra point. Haverhill pushed through late in the second quarter, with a 21-yard passing touchdown to make the score 20-6, and a successful extra point, making it 20-7, which remained the score until halftime. The second half was action-packed, as Haverhill gained another passing touchdown and extra point with eight minutes left in the 3rd quarter, closing the deficit to 20-14. Beverly increased their lead with a 5-yard rushing touchdown from junior running back Anthony Sullivan and succeeded in a two-point conversion rush by Danny Pierce. However, Haverhill wouldn’t give up, scoring quickly on their third passing touchdown with under 45 seconds in the third. The extra point was blocked by senior captain Callan McCay, but Haverhill had still cut into Beverly’s lead, now only trailing by eight with a score of 28-20. Haverhill continued their momentum, scoring quickly in the 4th quarter with a rushing touchdown but failing their two-point conversion. From that point, the game became a defensive battle between the two teams until about 5 minutes left in the 4th when Haverhill’s fake field goal attempt failed due to a crucial tackle by Panthers captain Callan McCay. Beverly succeeded in running down the clock, sealing it with a 15-yard fake punt run from senior Floyd White. Beverly turned the ball over on downs with nineteen seconds left on the clock. Haverhill completed a few deep passes but failed to run the ball out of bounds to stop the clock, and Beverly won the game with a final score of 28-26, moving to 1-1 while Haverhill moved to 0-1 on the year.
