The Ultimate Summer Sandwich Guide

Summer is the season of sandwiches. Here are a few delicious and simple sandwich ideas perfect for a sunny day picnic, poolside lounging, and a lunch date with friends!

Caprese Sandwich: Toast two slices of ciabatta bread and then drizzle them with olive oil. Layer arugula, mozzarella slices, tomato, and finish with the basil leaves. Season to taste with salt, pepper, and a bit of balsamic glaze before topping it off with the bread. 

Chickpea Salad Sandwich: Combine chickpeas with lemon juice, olive oil, garlic powder, and mustard. Mash the chickpeas a bit and then add them to the celery, salt, and pepper. Spread mayonnaise on the bread of your choosing before topping with lettuce, tomato, onion, your chickpea mixture, and finishing it off with the other slice of bread. 

Greek Pitas: Start with either a homemade or store-bought Greek pita flatbread or substitute it with a regular pita brand. Layer chicken, lettuce, tomatoes, kalamata olives, and cucumbers in the pita. Top with either homemade or store-bought tzatziki sauce. 

BLAT (Avocado BLT): Using two slices of toasted bread with mayonnaise. Layer tomato, lettuce, avocado slices, and then bacon, adding a sprinkle of salt if preferred. Top with bread, slice, and enjoy. 

Strawberry and cream cheese sandwich: Take two slices of toasted brioche bread and spread a thick layer of cream cheese on both sides. Layer one side with sliced strawberries and top with the other slice of bread. Add a sprinkle of honey on top for extra sweetness and flavor. 

Club Sandwich: Take 3 slices of bread, toast them, and add a thin layer of butter to each side. Top one slice with tomatoes, lettuce, salt and pepper,r and then bacon. Add mayonnaise to the next slice of bread and put it on top of the bacon. Top with cheddar, turkey, ham, and a final slice of bread.
