Your Guide to Holiday Activities 2020

By Emma Judge ’23

Although our favorite holidays this year may look a little different due to the pandemic, that does not mean that holiday spirit has to stop! Here are some great ideas for you to still celebrate the holiday spirit safely this year.
• HOST AN OUTDOOR HOLIDAY MOVIE
While we can not watch holiday movies together inside, you can still watch them outside. Have your friends bring plenty of warm blankets and hot chocolate. Set yourselves 6 feet away, hook up your projector and watch your movie.
• DO A HOLIDAY LIGHT DRIVE
The North Shore loves to decorate for Christmas. So drive around and look at all the beautiful, colorful, and fun light decorations. Be sure to turn up the Christmas music and to bring cookies!
• DO A VIRTUAL TOY DRIVE
The holidays are a great time to help the less fortunate. Create an Amazon wish list and then share with your friends and family. Then donate these items to Beverly Bootstrap.
• LETTERS TO SENIOR CITIZENS
2020 has been rough for senior citizens who have been kept isolated because of their risk
to COVID-19. Writing letters or making holiday cards to seniors would definitely brighten their day. Be sure to contact the nursing home before sending your cards.
• DO A SECRET KINDNESS
Surprise someone you love by leaving a surprise gift on their doorstep. Make them brownies and a holiday card. Or surprise a stranger by buying the drink for the person behind in the drive thru.
• COOKIE ZOOM
Bake cookies with your friends and family…remotely! Have everybody find a cookie recipe that they like and then swap the recipes around. Bake the cookies with your friends and then compare how all you cookies came out.
