Last week, a mansion in Beverly, popularly known as the “Gatsby house,” was robbed, prompting an ongoing police investigation. According to authorities, a masked, armed suspect allegedly broke into the home early Saturday morning and tied up the victim inside the residence. Police reported that a neighbor called 911 at around 8:50 a.m.—approximately three hours after the incident—to report the home invasion. Officers responded shortly after the call, secured the area, and gathered initial evidence.
The victim was transported to Beverly Hospital with injuries that were not considered life-threatening, authorities said. Officials later confirmed that the victim has since been released and is now recovering. Investigators stated that the suspect allegedly stole a vehicle from the mansion before fleeing the scene; the vehicle has since been recovered by police as part of the ongoing search. Other valuable items were also stolen, but the owner has not yet provided further details. The owner believes the suspect may be someone familiar with the property.
Police continue to investigate the incident, reviewing evidence and following up on leads. At this time, no arrests have been made, and authorities have not released additional information. Officials are asking anyone with information related to the case to contact Beverly police as the search continues.
