Bruno Mars Concert Review

By Danika Mansfield and Olivia Galui ’29

On September 5, 2026, we headed down to Gillette Stadium in Foxborough, Massachusetts, to see Bruno Mars live on The Romantic Tour. Even more exciting was the fact that this was Bruno Mars’s first time performing at Gillette and one of his first full headlining performances in nearly a decade.

Openers

DJ Pee Wee, also known as Anderson .Paak, was the first of the two openers. He is best known for his solo work, along with performing and releasing an album with Bruno Mars under the name Silk Sonic. Paak is also known for his skills as a DJ. During his set, he remixed songs from every decade since the 1970s, including tracks such as Technotronic’s “Pump Up the Jam,” Anderson .Paak’s “Come Down,” and Silk Sonic’s “Leave the Door Open.” In addition, he played hits from artists such as Timbaland, Justin Timberlake, Missy Elliott, Britney Spears, Gwen Stefani, Queen, and Michael Jackson.

Following DJ Pee Wee, RAYE took the stage as the second opener. RAYE is a British singer-songwriter and music producer who broke records for the most wins and nominations at the 2024 BRIT Awards. Her hit songs “Escapism” and “WHERE IS MY HUSBAND!” have taken social media by storm. Her powerful yet timeless voice shines throughout her album THIS MUSIC MAY CONTAIN HOPE. RAYE’s uplifting songs captivated the crowd, and her stage presence made the concert that much more enjoyable.

The Concert Experience

As we sat waiting for the concert to begin, it started raining. Many concertgoers left their seats and waited in the covered inner ring for the weather to clear. Luckily, the rain lasted only twenty minutes, and soon enough, everyone was back outside, ready for the performers to take the stage.

The concert itself was full of energy, from the opening note to the final encore. Bruno Mars performed many of his smash hits, including “24K Magic,” “Treasure,” “That’s What I Like,” “Marry You,” “Locked Out of Heaven,” and “Just the Way You Are.” He also performed several songs with Anderson .Paak. The show featured plenty of dancing, live instrumentation, and impressive light displays that kept the crowd engaged throughout the performance.

Overall, Bruno Mars’s concert was an unforgettable experience filled with incredible music, dancing, and entertainment. With talented openers like DJ Pee Wee and RAYE, followed by an energetic performance from Bruno Mars, the concert kept the crowd entertained from start to finish. If you ever get the chance to see Bruno Mars live, we definitely recommend going. It’s a concert you won’t want to miss!
